Welcome to The Signal
Every property runs on decisions made years ago, but those decisions can set a ceiling on your growth capabilities. Being deliberate in today's decisions gives you the runway to grow into something new, and that's what this newsletter is here for.
We want to build more consistent, proactive communication with you, our customers, so you're in the loop on everything we're doing, how LUCI is evolving, and what's coming next for your properties. The Signal is your hub for fully engaging in our growing partnership.
The theme for this first issue is clearing the deck for deliberate action. You'll find a LUCI retrofit at Ameristar Council Bluffs that clears out a decade of aging tech so the property can make proactive decisions about its guest experience, a step-by-step guide to setting up your own morning reset that clears the previous night's chaos for a fresh, deliberate start, an early look at the August LUCI software release and its agentic capabilities, and a new face on the team.
The Signal will arrive once a month to keep you ahead of what's next at LUCI. We look forward to sharing in the successes we all achieve together by unifying complex A/V systems into a single interface.
Glad to have you with us for the first one. Let's get into it.

Three days to a future-ready platform
Ameristar Council Bluffs Casino Council Bluffs, Iowa · Penn Entertainment
The challenge
Ameristar Council Bluffs spans a land-based casino and a riverboat. A major land-side buildout and a planned transition off the riverboat were approaching, but a decade of aging, patched-together equipment had the team working around its own systems instead of running them. Before the property could make deliberate decisions about its next phase, it needed to clear out the old infrastructure and stand on a unified, future-ready platform.
What LUCI did
LUCI cleared the deck in under three days. The team relocated all AV processing from the riverboat into the property's IT data center on land, eliminating dedicated AV rooms from the new buildout and reducing future construction costs. We replaced the aging head-end systems, amplifiers, and control infrastructure, modernized the system documentation, and brought everything onto LUCI, all without disrupting daily operations.
The results
With the old systems cleared and LUCI in place, Ameristar manages all of its complex A/V from a single interface, giving every member of the team one place to control the property from anywhere. Instead of reacting to aging equipment, the team can now make proactive, deliberate decisions about the guest experience. That foundation supports unlimited operational users on any browser-based device, built-in automation for daily resets and scheduled adjustments, and ongoing enhancements without additional upgrade licensing costs. In practice, that means:
- One unified view of every endpoint
- Broader delegation by zone
- Faster response to daily needs
- Automated resets and scheduling
- Simpler maintenance and expansion
- Lower long-term infrastructure costs
With the system centralized on land, the property is also set up for what comes next: a clean break from the riverboat when the time comes, and a new buildout that plugs into the platform already powering the property; no second install, no parallel system to stand up.
"Well done, LUCI team! This was the best installation, so seamless."

What's coming this summer
The next version of LUCI is coming in August, a full rollout to all properties.
We'll detail the full feature set when we're closer to launch. For now, here's what we'll say: the distance between this version and the next one isn't incremental. The platform you're running today was built to work; what's coming is built to think.
What that means in practice:
- A system that monitors itself and responds when something needs attention, before your staff encounters it
- Capabilities that reduce the intervention your team has to provide to keep things running at their best
- Updates that arrive as a notification rather than a project
More to come in the next issue, including a preview of what to expect and what your transition will look like.
LUCI Quick Tip
Did you know you can control your entire property from your phone?
LUCI runs in any browser on any authorized device: pull up the property map, adjust a zone, fire a preset, or change a channel from wherever you are. No separate app, no workstation required. If your team isn't using mobile control yet, it's worth a five-minute test.
Meet Jane Haynie
We're excited to welcome Jane Haynie to the LUCI team this May. Jane joins us as Digital Marketing Director, bringing twelve years of B2B tech marketing experience to the role.
Jane's focus is keeping you informed on what we're building, where we're going, and how to take full advantage of the platform your property runs on. She's the link between LUCI's growth and innovation and your day-to-day operations. If there's a story worth telling or a collaboration worth exploring, she's your first call.
Set a morning reset
One of the most useful things on the platform takes about ten minutes to set up, then runs every day without you.
Here's the idea: build a preset that puts your entire property into a known, intentional state, then schedule it to fire before the floor opens.
What it sets:
- Right channels on the right screens
- Volumes calibrated for the time of day
- Each venue configured the way you designed it
What you get: a property that starts each day the way you planned, not the way it ended up after the last shift. No pit boss finding Judge Judy on the sportsbook screens. No morning walk-through to fix volumes that got knocked around overnight.
To set one up:
Go to Presets and create a new preset with the state you want
Drop it onto the Calendar
Set it to repeat daily at your preferred time
If you'd like help building it out, reach out to your FDE. It's a short conversation and one of the highest-ROI calls you'll make.
LUCI's engineers are the same people who deployed your system, refine the platform, and answer when something goes wrong, in year five the same as day one. If there's a project on your radar, a question you've been sitting on, or something you just want to think through, we're available. That's part of what you signed up for.

What you may not know about LUCI
Most clients come to LUCI for the platform. What many don't know is that the same FDEs who deployed your system stay with you, working as an extension of your team.
Our founders spent fifty years as integrators, operators, and owners. Here's what that looks like in practice:
- Technology consulting
- Weighing a new system or an expansion? Email your FDE, and we'll get on the calendar. We've sat on your side of the table and catch the questions that usually get skipped before budget is signed.
- Design & owner's rep
- Building or changing a space? Send us the plans. We join your architect, scope AV and multimedia for how you operate, and hold the standard. You can bid install elsewhere if you prefer; we'll align the result either way.
- Budget planning
- When we design a space, we build the budget from your plans as part of the package, so you have real numbers before bid and a clear view of where to trim without hurting operations.
- Sister properties
- Another site not on LUCI yet? Onboarding is shorter than most expect, with the same team and the same standards. Let's talk when you're ready.
We're hot on the heels of budget season, so if any of these conversations are worth having, now is the time.
